It was late evening, around 9PM, when a murder was reported by SI Arjun Singh.
As per the crime scene and investigation- deceased name was Rohit, he was stabbed 5 times by his friend Suresh. Police found only one eye witness to this crime scene and that was a shopkeeper on the same lane where the murder took place, namely Vicky.
Arjun as always in hurry to solve the case in 5 random questions from the witness:
1. "Where exactly were you standing when it happened?"
Vicky pointed to the corner of his shop, claiming he had a clear line of sight.
2. "Did you actually see Suresh stab Rohit?"
Vicky hesitated, then nodded — “Yes, I saw him raise the knife.”
3. "How well-lit was the area?"
“The streetlight was flickering,” Vicky admitted, “but enough to see their faces.”
4. "Did you hear any argument or shouting before the stabbing?"
“Yes,” he said. “They were arguing loudly. Suresh shouted something about betrayal.”
5. "Why didn’t you intervene or call the police immediately?"
“I was scared,” Vicky replied. “It all happened so fast. By the time I realized, Rohit was already on the ground.”
SI Arjun scribbled notes rapidly, his eyes narrowing. Something about Vicky's answers didn't sit right — a flickering streetlight, a ‘clear view’, fear that delayed a call. Was this the full truth or just the beginning of a more tangled web?
Arjun thought of asking one more question - "Why you had to change your T-shirt that day, he asked by pointing out the CCTV near Vicky's shop; he emphasized that you were seen coming with new T-Shirt in a span of 15 minutes of committing the murder by Suresh.
Vicky - sir, sir- I am innocent.
Arjun - He feels that now case is closed.
Vicky is innocent, he is being framed by the SI😅
ReplyDeleteWitness said he had clear sight. Hesitation can be there because of fear of giving statement against somebody (who has already committed a crime) nodded because he didn't have the strength to speak against a criminal. Statement states that (suresh raises the knife) because here also witness is scared of the offender. Chadnani chowk is one of the biggest market in Delhi streetlight cannot be the single source of light there. Even the shopowners leave a bulb lit outside of their shops so that anybody could see the actions outside of their shops with the help of this the witness could see the faces clearly. Shouting of betrayal by suresh shows motive. Seeing somebody stabbing other can put anybody in shock and by the time the witness realised what happend it was to late. Changing of T-shirt can because of sweat or he might tried to help the victim and in that activity he got his clothes got stained by blood so he changed them.
